A Yaeyama soba restaurant loved on Taketomi for over half a century
Yarabo
Founded in 1973, this restaurant has served the island for more than half a century and was renovated in spring 2025. Yaeyama soba, soki soba, and kuruma-ebi soba made with tiger prawns raised on Taketomi. After your time on the water, savor the flavors of the island—it's sure to round off your trip.

Take home the memory of your trip as a lucky charm
Fukugi Craft Workshop
A workshop where you can make your own salt. Seawater you scoop up yourself from Taketomi's shore is slowly simmered down in an earthenware pot. It takes about 45 minutes, and you take your finished salt home in a charm pouch of your choice.
